Antioxidants: power or lack of power?

They have lost an electron and this makes them aggressive.

Since they will not rest until they have replaced their lost electron with a newly conquered electron, they go to work brutally and "steal" an electron from some neighbour who happens to be nearby. This can be a DNA molecule, a protein, or any molecule of the cell membrane, which in turn are severely damaged by the electron theft. The resulting damage can lead to accelerated skin ageing and skin cancer and is also known as »OXIDATIVE STRESS«.

This means that the oxygen radicals are the bad boys and the antioxidants are the good boys.

The pool of antioxidants found in the skin contains, among others, vitamins C and E, which have a strong antioxidant effect. These usually enter the skin through the dietary route. However, scientific studies show that the antioxidant capacity of the skin can be significantly increased by a local supply of vitamins C and E from the outside, which represents a potent skin protection and therefore makes sense.

Effektive Antioxidantien sind die Vitamine A, C und E, which are essential components of the TetCode4 series.
